ClimateEngine.org is a web application that utilizes cloud computing to access datasets from the Google Cloud and process the data using the Google Earth Engine. This web application allows you to visualize spatial maps and time series summaries of remote sensing data (MODIS and Landsat) and gridded meteorological data (gridMET,CFSR,CHIRPS) and download the data too.Go to Website Go to Tool
The cold hardiness zone tools are based upon the work of our graduate student, Lauren Parker. There are currently two tools: a cold hardiness zones and a crop suitability tool. The cold hardiness zone tool allows the user to view a map of USDA cold hardiness zones under current conditions and under future scenarios for the early/mid/late part of the 21st century. The crop suitability tool allows the user to select a range of cold hardiness zones and to view a map of locations in that range now and under future scenarios for the early/mid/late part of the 21st century.Go to Tool
The weather and wheat yield tools are based upon the work of our graduate student, Wenlong Feng. The weather and wheat yield tool allow the user to view records of winter wheat yield by county (i.e. in Washington, Oregon and Idaho covering the REACCH region) and to explore how detrended wheat yields sit within the space of weather each year (in terms of precipitation and temperature).Go to Tool
The SFE Probabilistic Analysis Tool is based upon the work of our graduate student, Abigail Lute. This tool provides probabilistic information regarding annual snowfall totals and extreme snowfall events. The tool is informed by research on the importance of extreme snowfall events to annual snowfall totals and to interannual variability in snowfall (Lute and Abatzoglou,2014).
This tool has the potential to serve as a guidance product in decision making processes relevant to reservoir management, flood control, water supply commitments, agriculture/cropping, and other matters dependent on water supply.
This tool visualizes spatial maps of projections of climate projections (i.e. from MACA) over seasons (winter,spring,summer,fall, annual), over early/mid/late 21st century for the individual global climate models and the multi-model mean. Climate metrics that can be viewed are temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind and radiation. Derived climate metrics of interest to agriculture that can be viewed are growing degree day models and metrics related to cold or heat stress. The user has the ability to overlay US state and county boundaries on the map and customize the colors and data ranges used in making the map layer. The user can also download the data for the maps in netCDF or geoTIFF formats or imported as WMS layers.Show Tool

The user can select a rectangular region from a map and choose parameters for the axes, including the variable and season for the projection. This tool visualizes annual summaries of time series of the MACA data, allowing visualization of all of the model projections and comparison between future emission scenarios. The annual time series summaries tool allows the user to see a quick synopsis of the range of future projections from the different global climate models and between future emission scenarios. Metrics shown include minimum/maximum temperature, precipation, solar radiation, wind speed either annually or seasonal.Go to Tool
This tool visualizes future streamflow projections using the future hydrology results of the Integrated Scenarios project. The user can select a stream location from a map and look at different future model projections for streamflow. Displayed are monthly streamflows in the historical and future periods under the RCP 4.5/8.5 scenarios.Show Tool

This tool visualizes the model skill of different monthly/seasonal average forecasts of the downscaled seasonal forecasts from NOAA's NMME project. This tool is based on the results of an analysis of spatial correlations in comparing downscaled model hindcasts to actual observations on a 4-km grid.Go to Tool
The inland NW Climate Tracker tool allows the user to quickly see weather station data from stations in the inland Northwest (i.e. Eastern Washington, Idaho, Western Montana), USA. The time series tool allos the user to see aggregations of the station data over individual months, seasons or years and displays these aggregations over the years in the period of record. The mapping tool shows the individual station's aggregations on a map of the inland NW. Station data can also be downloaded from the tool.Go to Tool
The California Climate Tracker tool allows the user to track climate variability and change for the state of California, USA as both an average over the entire state, over large sub-regions of the state and at weather stations located over the state. The time series tool shows the interannual variability in temperature/precipitation over historical years. The mapping tools show deviations in monthly temperature/precipitation for individual months, seasons or years.Go to Tool
